Reptile Hunting 12 July (9.30 am – 11.30 am)

For more than 17 years Vinters Valley Nature Reserve has embarked on a successful reptile recovery program within the conservation areas of the reserve and every year we regularly monitor the reptile populations in three main areas.

This summer we are offering supporters the opportunity to go on a reptile hunt, looking for Viviparous Lizards (Zootoca vivipara), Slow Worms (Anguis fragilis) and Grass snakes (Natrix natrix helvetica), to be found in the reserve.

There will also be the opportunity to gain first hand understanding on how we manage the landscape for these protected, and yet misunderstood, native reptiles, as well as the benefits for other wildlife in the reserve.

If you would like to join our warden, Steve, on one of his monitoring surveys please contact him via email
