Bird Boxes project - Diary
pages - 28th April 2007
Today saw the another survey carried
out.
Firstly we have some sad news to report.
One of the Blue Tit nests, in a Dormouse box, has
sadly failed. The nest was never completed and no
eggs were laid so no chicks died.
During today's survey we found one of
the lids loose on a Dormouse box, that is in use by
a pair of Blue Tits. We carefully check the nest and
found no damage. Before replacing the lid we saw eight
eggs had been laid and took a very quick photo (see
below).
During the next two weeks we should
begin to see the parents visitng often to feed chicks.
Hopefully we will be able to capture some of this
on film and post it on this website.
The next survey will be carried out
on Saturday 5th May.
The results from today's survey can
now be viewed on this website. Please visit the "Survey
Results" pages for more details.
