Bird Boxes project - Diary
pages - 7th April 2007
A warm welcome &
hello to everyone who found us through the Kent Messenger's
articale (Friday 6th Aprill, Page 26)
Today saw the another survey carried out.
At last some of the Blue Tit boxes are
now in use, as well as some of the dormouse boxes.
The robin box, which has moss, twigs
and leaves in has sadly seen no more material added
and no activity was recorded. It may be possible that
this nest has sadly been abandoned.
Whilst carrying out the survey today
we found another dormouse box. A check inside, being
careful, found that the box is being used by a field
mouse. Also whilst checking another one we found it
may have been taken over by bees. The lid to the box
was shut quickly!
The weather is set to stay nice and
warm so hopefully we will be able to take some photos
of the birds and post them on here.
On Sunday 15th April, from 9:30am to
noon, there will be a spring flower walk. Please contact
our local warden for details.
The next survey will be carried out
on Saturday 14th April.
The results from today's survey
can now be viewed on this website. Please visit the
"Survey Results" pages for more details.
