Vinters Valley Nature Reserve Dog Walking/Dog Walkers Guidance
Help us to keep
Vinters Valley Nature Reserve
a special place to visit
I welcome the many visitors who like to experience the joys of nature, found in this reserve, with their faithful canine companion(s). I know that many of you take a keen interest in the natural events you witness in the reserve throughout the year. I also welcome you keeping me informed when you see other visitors inflicting damage on the reserve, or acting in an anti social way, which does not respect the reserves peaceful setting.
However not all visitors are comfortable when approached by boisterous dogs, so to ensure peace and harmony amongst all visitors to the reserve and also to respect the home of the many animals and plants which live in this nature reserve, can I ask that all dog walkers follow these simple guidelines:
Please keep control of and have sight of your dog(s) at all times. Do not allow them to worry or ‘flush out’ the wildlife in the nature reserve, particularly birds. Sometimes this may mean keeping your dog on a lead, if they do not obey your voice commands.
Always, always clear up after your dog and dispose of your dog’s faeces in one of the many dog bins provided.
Please support the nature reserve, either by becoming a friend of the reserve and financially contributing to the upkeep of the reserve – we suggest a donation of £1 a week for regular users of the reserve (please click here to request a dontation form) - or by helping with our practical activity days.
Please remember 70% of the funding for the nature reserve is provided by local residents and visitors; with the primary purpose of promoting nature conservation and enjoyment of its peaceful surroundings
Lastly, may I also take this opportunity to thank so many regular visitors who do support
the reserve through responsible dog walking and financial support, thank you for demonstrating your civic responsibility and equally your financial generosity.
